Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Stack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hippo Maimer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Stack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hippo Maimer!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maimer shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Stack pivots, looking for a leg kick but Maimer is out of range and Stack settles back down.
Stack looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Maimer is fending him off so far but Stack persists. Nope, Maimer circles away and we're back to standing.
Stack misses the jab.
Stack is looking to score with low kicks.

Stack drives through with a takedown into Maimer's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Maimer can do anything to dispel that myth.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Maimer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Maimer is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Stack is controlling him.
Stack trying to control the position from guard on top but Maimer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Stack throwing strikes from guard but Maimer blocks nicely.

Stack trying to control but Maimer is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maimer is adopting a defensive guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jim Stack.
Maimer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Stack throws a wild body kick that Maimer sees coming a mile off.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stack fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Maimer swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A jab from Stack misses.
A big left from Maimer misses.
Stack misses with a low kick.
Some bone on bone action there as Maimer checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Stack attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Stack doesn't manage to clinch there - Maimer circles away.
Stack looks for the body kick but Maimer saw that one coming.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stack slips under a jab from Maimer.
Stack misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Maimer.
Maimer blocks a leg kick.
Maimer staying out of range there.
Maimer throws a hook to the side of Stack's head but Stack sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Maimer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stack.
Stack slips under a jab.
Maimer avoids a kick to the body.
Jim Stack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Maimer lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Stack sprawling to the canvas. Maimer follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Stack hang on?


It looks like Jim Stack has been cut.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Stack keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Maimer wants to advance to full mount but Stack doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Stack tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Maimer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stack. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Stack bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Maimer's guard.
Maimer keeping moving, preventing Stack from controlling successfully.
Stack won't allow Maimer to get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stack trying to control but Maimer is working from the bottom.
Stack throwing strikes but missing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hippo Maimer dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jim Stack's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Good work by Maimer as he checks the leg kick.
Stack misses with an attempted mid kick.
Stack is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Stack misses with a hook. Maimer ducked under it nicely.
Maimer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stack misses with a body kick.

Stack drives through with a takedown into Maimer's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Maimer working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Stack.

Stack throwing strikes but missing.
Maimer trying to keep a closed guard but Stack is proving a slippery customer.
Maimer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Stack trying to control from the bottom.
Stack is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Maimer is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Maimer wants to control but Stack is keeping him busy.
Stack has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Maimer is working away from the top position though.
Stack slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Maimer wants to control from the top but Stack keeps moving.
Stack is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Stack is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Maimer frees his head nicely. Oh but Stack has switched to an armbar! Maimer is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
