Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Velasques (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavi Dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dos Santos has chosen 2Pac - California Love as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Cain Velasques has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasques is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dos Santos sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Velasques bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Velasques works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Dos Santos is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Dos Santos gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Velasques is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Dos Santos to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Dos Santos shrugs it off.
Dos Santos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Velasques. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Velasques connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Dos Santos tries to reverse the position but Velasques maintains control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dos Santos can do anything to dispel that myth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Velasques is working for a guillotine from mount but Dos Santos frees his head quite easily.

Dos Santos tries to improve his position but Velasques has taken his back! Velasques has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Dos Santos tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Velasques pushes Dos Santos away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
