Punker kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Miss May I - Relentless Chaos. Herbstreit has chosen Herb Alpert - Street Life as his entrance music. Chad Herbstreit struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 206.8lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Chad Herbstreit is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chad Herbstreit!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Paulo Santos and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Herbstreit fails with an attempt to clinch.
A big left from Punker misses.

A head kick lands from Punker that sends Herbstreit to the canvas. Herbstreit tries to scramble back to his feet but Punker brings him back down into side control.


Herbstreit is rocked!


It looks like Chad Herbstreit has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Punker trying to control the position but Herbstreit is working away.
Herbstreit is still in real trouble! Can Punker finish him?
Herbstreit stops Punker from passing to mount.

Punker is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Herbstreit is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Herbstreit seems to have recovered his senses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Punker is looking to take a break and control but Herbstreit is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Punker working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Herbstreit takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Punker looks up at the clock and then as Herbstreit takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Punker smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Punker is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Herbstreit has escaped the position, nice work there.
Herbstreit wants to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Punker tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Punker tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Punker has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Punker can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Herbstreit is looking to escape.

Punker has control of Herbstreit's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Herbstreit regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Punker putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Herbstreit is in a horrible position here. Punker smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Punker pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Punker drops a big elbow. That's hurt Herbstreit! More shots from Punker and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
