Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fidel Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jin Shotokahn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Castro comes to the cage accompanied by Carlos Puebla - Y En Eso Llego Fidel. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jin Shotokahn!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castro throws a sloppy head kick and Shotokahn moves out of range easily.
Castro slips under a jab from Shotokahn.

Shotokahn clinches.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Castro.
Shotokahn misses with the head strike.
Castro tries a knee to the head but Shotokahn blocks it.
Castro fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Castro lands with a right to the head.
A body shot lands from Castro.
Castro tries for a takedown. No joy.
Castro missing with knees to the body.
Shotokahn lands with a short shot to the head.
Shotokahn throws a punch but it's blocked by Castro.
Shotokahn misses with a punch on the inside.
Castro misses with a hook to the ribs.
Shotokahn tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Shotokahn trying to control the position but instead, Castro has worked for underhooks and has pushed Shotokahn into the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

It looks like Fidel Castro has been cut.
Castro with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Shotokahn swings wildly with an uppercut but Castro uses good head movement to avoid it.

Castro has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Shotokahn is trying to keep an underhook but Castro manages to get the takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Castro wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shotokahn keeps working.
Shotokahn is trying to stand up here but Castro is controlling him well.
Shotokahn is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Castro moves nicely into side control.
Shotokahn avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Castro.

Castro misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Shotokahn on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Castro in side control, throwing shots but Shotokahn defends.
Shotokahn is not content to let Castro control the position.
Castro is really struggling to control Shotokahn but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Castro throws an elbow but Shotokahn slips to the side and avoids it well.
Castro misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Castro looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Shotokahn is avoiding damage well.

Castro throws a strike aimed at the side of Shotokahn's head but Shotokahn avoids it well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shotokahn is rocked!
Castro connects with a superb combination that knocks Shotokahn out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Castro before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Shotokahn!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Fidel Castro!
After winning the bout, Fidel Castro thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
