Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alex Rosenberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rorz Jay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Rosenberg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rorz Jay!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, John Mangel and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jay displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rosenberg.
Jay shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rosenberg pinned against the cage. Rosenberg gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jay takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Jay looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rosenberg is fending him off so far but Jay persists. Nope, Rosenberg circles away and we're back to standing.
Rosenberg looks for the body kick but Jay saw that one coming.
Jay tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rosenberg swivels and escapes.
Alex Rosenberg has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rorz Jay.
Rosenberg rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jay moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Alex Rosenberg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jay misses with a takedown attempt
and Rosenberg counters with a one-two to the body.
A combination from Rosenberg does no damage.
Jay avoids a punch combination nicely.

Rosenberg drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Jay keeping moving, preventing Rosenberg from controlling successfully.

Rosenberg postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jay is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rosenberg, into his guard.
Rosenberg is pulling down on Jay's head. It's preventing any offense from Jay, at least for the moment.
Jay postures up.
Jay trying to control but Rosenberg is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rosenberg is looking to stand up but Jay isn't so interested in that idea.

Jay loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Jay slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Jay feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Jay is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Rosenberg wants to stand but Jay is controlling the position.
Jay postures up in Rosenberg's guard and throws a big left but Rosenberg blocks it.
Jay not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Let's hope that Jay has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Rorz Jay hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Rosenberg closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jay circles away.
Jay uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rosenberg.
Jay tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Rosenberg is able to avoid easily.
Some bone on bone action there as Jay checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Rosenberg fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rosenberg throws a head kick but Jay moves out of range.
Jay doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Rosenberg counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jay's guard now.
Rosenberg is breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rosenberg postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Rosenberg trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Jay manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Rosenberg wants to stand but Jay is controlling the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jay's corner is telling him to maintain position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jay distracts Rosenberg with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Jay trying to control the position from guard on top but Rosenberg is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Rosenberg's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Jay closes the distance and clinches.

Rosenberg's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rosenberg stuffs the takedown attempt from Jay. Jay gets slowly back to his feet.

Jay fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Rosenberg gets caught flat footed, as Jay shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Jay has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Alex Rosenberg.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jay has Rosenberg pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rosenberg manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Rosenberg has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Jay has had enough of the clinch but Rosenberg keeps him there for the moment.
Rosenberg wants to break free but Jay has control.
Jay's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Jay gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Rosenberg regains guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jay distracts Rosenberg with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Rosenberg has Jay pulled in close to control his posture.

Rosenberg is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Rosenberg is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Jay wants to take the fight to the mat but Rosenberg manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Jay changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rosenberg fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jay takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

That was a close second round but I would say that Alex Rosenberg will probably get the nod.

Rosenberg scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Rosenberg wants to control but Jay is keeping him busy.

Rosenberg tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rosenberg has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Jay is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Rosenberg has just dragged him back down to the mat.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jay can do anything to dispel that myth.

Rosenberg has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Jay takes a kick to the side of the head.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Rosenberg lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Rosenberg shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jay but Jay pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jay shoots in and drives through. Rosenberg sprawls well.
Rosenberg shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jay eats them both and turns towards Rosenberg to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Jay is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rosenberg sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Rosenberg looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jay is fending him off so far but Rosenberg persists. Nope, Jay circles away and we're back to standing.

Rosenberg lands a leg kick that knocks Jay off balance momentarily.

Jay darts in and clinches Rosenberg up against the cage.
Jay wants a takedown.
Rosenberg lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Rosenberg escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Rosenberg stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jay swivels though and keeps the full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Alex Rosenberg showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rosenberg, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
