Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Steve Stevenson!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee feints a jab promting Stevenson to slip. Lee then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Stevenson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Steve Stevenson has been cut.
Lee lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Stevenson misses with a takedown attempt - Lee sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Stevenson has managed to clinch.
Lee is trying to break free.
Lee tries to break the clinch but Stevenson is controlling the position.
Stevenson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Lee is defending well.

Stevenson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lee feints and then cracks Stevenson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Stevenson down.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lee leaves Stevenson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
James Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Stevenson.
Lee fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Lee throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
James Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lee jabs Stevenson to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Lee drives through with a takedown into Stevenson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Lee wants to control from the top but Stevenson keeps moving.

Lee postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Stevenson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lee, into his guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Stevenson tries to free his leg and advance position but Lee is retaining full guard.
Lee can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Stevenson controls the pace.

Lee has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stevenson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Stevenson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Stevenson passes Lee's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Lee is trying to control but can't.

Lee is defending against the submission attempts here by Stevenson.
Lee won't allow Stevenson to pass to mount.

Stevenson seems to be working for a kimura but Lee defends the submission attempt.

Lee slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Lee is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Lee is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stevenson defends well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lee throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Stevenson.
Lee tries to clinch up but Stevenson circles away and keeps his distance.

Lee shoots in and bounces Stevenson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stevenson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Stevenson throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Lee has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Stevenson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lee's guard.

Lee will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Stevenson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Lee is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Stevenson wants to control but Lee is keeping busy.
The fighters are battling for position here. Stevenson manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Stevenson trying to keep a closed guard but Lee is proving a slippery customer.
Stevenson is breathing heavily.
Lee pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Stevenson is keeping the position for now.

Steve Stevenson has got the better of the ground game so far.

Lee got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stevenson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lee has managed to get both his arms back between Stevenson's legs - danger averted.

Stevenson pushes a forearm under Lee's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Lee is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Steve Stevenson!
