Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jon Snow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Kay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Snow kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Just Like You Imagined. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Snow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matt Kay! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kay drives through and clinches with Snow against the cage.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Kay. Kay has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Snow avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Kay prevents Snow from breaking the clinch. Kay is trying to drag Snow to the mat but Snow just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Kay lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Kay controlling the action here. Snow tries to get to full guard but Kay has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Matt Kay has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Snow just misses with a punch to the body.
Kay shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Kay takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Snow is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kay with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Matt Kay hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kay. Jon Snow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Kay. A looping hook to the body misses from Snow. Kay does a little dance to reset his feet. Kay showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Snow.
No joy there for Snow, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A left and a right from Snow both land. Nice combination. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kay avoids a punch combination nicely.

Snow rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kay moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Snow throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A jab from Snow misses. A combination from Snow does no damage. Kay shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kay was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Kay is in the full mount, landing strikes. Snow really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Kay controlling the pace for now. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Snow is in all sorts of trouble here.

A battle for position here, against the cage. Snow is trying to break the clinch but Kay is controlling him. Kay blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kay shoots for a double leg takedown but Snow sprawls well. He's pushed Kay's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A big right from Snow misses. Sloppy strikes from Snow. Those never looked like landing. Kay seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kay stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Snow swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Snow wants to get back to full guard. Kay stalling. Snow is trying to maintain the position but Kay is very close to passing his half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Snow tries to kick Kay off but Kay keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jon Snow wasn't doing enough on the ground. Sloppy strikes from Snow. Those never looked like landing. A punch combination from Snow misses. Jon Snow is winning the standup battle so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Snow throws a nice looking combination but Kay bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Jon Snow has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Matt Kay is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Some wild striking there from Snow.
