Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tatsumi Fujinami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Mondello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jordan Mondello is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tatsumi Fujinami!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jordan Mondello!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mondello tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fujinami was well out of range. Poor timing from Mondello.
Fujinami tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mondello swivels and escapes.
Fujinami has his takedown stuffed
and Mondello counters with a two punch combo.
Mondello slaps away a takedown attempt from Fujinami, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tatsumi Fujinami. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fujinami shoots in looking for a takedown but Mondello manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fujinami's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Fujinami is pulling down on Mondello's head. It's preventing any offense from Mondello, at least for the moment.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mondello accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The ref stands the fighters back up because Tatsumi Fujinami just wasn't active enough.

Mondello throws a jab when Fujinami was well out of range.
Mondello dips to his left and cracks Fujinami with an uppercut!
Fujinami fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Fujinami tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mondello sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fujinami somewhat.

Fujinami bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Mondello pushes Fujinami away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Fujinami gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Fujinami looks up at the clock and then as Mondello takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Fujinami smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fujinami is looking to take a break and control but Mondello is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Fujinami postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Fujinami moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Fujinami wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mondello keeps working.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mondello wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jordan Mondello will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Fujinami will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Fujinami changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mondello tries to avoid it but Fujinami manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mondello to the ground. Mondello escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Fujinami looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mondello is fending him off so far but Fujinami persists. Nope, Mondello circles away and we're back to standing.

We're going to have a standup here because Tatsumi Fujinami wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mondello can do anything to dispel that myth.
Fujinami has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

It looks like Tatsumi Fujinami has been cut.
Jordan Mondello seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mondello misses with a few strikes there.
Oh Fujinami is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fujinami drops his hands for a split second and Mondello immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Fujinami face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Mondello follows up with a right hand that knocks Fujinami into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:16 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jordan Mondello!
