The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Worley is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Cody Worley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mendonca moves in looking to clinch but Worley pushes him off.

Mendonca shoots in and drives through. Worley sprawls well.
No joy there for Worley, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mendonca chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Worley can pounce on him.
Worley feints a jab promting Mendonca to slip. Worley then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Mendonca slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
That has opened up Taylor Mendonca's cut even more.
Mendonca dodges the punch combination from Worley.
Worley misses with a head kick.
Worley lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mendonca circles away quickly and effectively.

Mendonca tries to close the distance and clinch but Worley swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Worley will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Worley shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Mendonca eats them both and turns towards Worley to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Taylor Mendonca's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
