Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Johnjo Chipchase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duarte Madeiros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnjo Chipchase!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Duarte Madeiros!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chipchase misses with a takedown attempt

so Madeiros counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Chipchase wants to stand but Madeiros is controlling the position.
Madeiros postures up and lands a big shot to Chipchase's brow.
Chipchase wants to sweep here but Madeiros controlling him for the moment.
Madeiros trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Chipchase is on top in guard.

Madeiros escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chipchase gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chipchase got a little sloppy there for a moment and Madeiros has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chipchase has managed to get both his arms back between Madeiros's legs - danger averted.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Chipchase has his foot on Madeiros's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Madeiros works his way back into a safe position though.

Madeiros is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Chipchase to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Chipchase shrugs it off.

Madeiros is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Chipchase can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Madeiros has control of Chipchase's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Chipchase regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Duarte Madeiros showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Chipchase shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Madeiros sprawls well. Madeiros wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Chipchase gets slowly back to his feet.

Madeiros bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Madeiros drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Madeiros seems to have locked his on tight now - Chipchase screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Madeiros, as he picks up the win!
