Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nick Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kanki Onki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kanki Onki has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Nick Kim's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nick Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kanki Onki!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Reed Andrews and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Onki changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kim looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kim is trying to escape the position but Onki is controlling the position.
It looks like Onki might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Onki's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Onki trying to control the action but Kim is working from the bottom.
Onki has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Onki landing strikes from the mount and Kim is in trouble!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Onki lands a nice shot to the head.
Onki tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Kim is wriggling around trying to escape.
Kim could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Onki gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Onki shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Onki is looking for a kimura but Kim is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Onki to get the leverage.

Kim gets full guard.

Onki decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kim, up you get!
An inside leg kick lands from Onki.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Onki closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kim's guard.
Onki makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Onki stands up from Kim's guard - Onki perhaps looking for a knockout.
Kim is trying hard to land a takedown here. Onki sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Kim shoots in but no luck this time.

Onki looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kim!
Kim is breathing heavily.
Onki tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Onki working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Onki controlling the pace for now.
Kim tries to reverse the position but Onki maintains control.
Onki sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Onki has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kim's face.


It looks like Nick Kim has been cut.

Onki is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Kim is surviving well by controlling Onki's body position as best he can.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Onki scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Kim?
Kim tries to hold on but Onki postures up.

Onki is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Kim is surviving well by controlling Onki's body position as best he can.

Onki stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kim shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Onki defends it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Nick Kim's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Onki scores a takedown into full mount!

Onki is working for a guillotine from mount but Kim frees his head quite easily.

Onki get's back to his feet.
Kim has his takedown stuffed

and Onki counters with a shoot takedown. Kim fights it but they end up in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Onki is stalling in the full guard.

Kim looking for subs off his back but Onki has passed one foot through into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Onki trying to mount his opponent but Kim defends it.

Onki seems to be working for a kimura but Kim defends the submission attempt.
Onki content to control rather than advance.
Onki passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kim!
Onki controlling the position easily from mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Onki has control of Kim's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kim regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Kanki Onki has got the better of the ground game so far.
Onki trying to control but Kim is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Onki lands a big shot there that rocks Kim but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Kim is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Kim takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.


Nick Kim's cut is getting worse.
Kim wants to control but Onki is having none of it.
Kim is trying desperately to improve position.
Onki controlling his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Onki has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kim is looking to get to half guard.
Onki landing strikes, looking to finish!
Onki takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Onki is in the full mount, landing strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kanki Onki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Onki shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Onki was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Onki gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Onki pushes Kim up against the cage in a clinch.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Kim has Onki pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Onki manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Onki turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Onki is staying tight to Kim's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Kim tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Onki wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kim tries to hold on but Onki postures up.
Onki controlling the pace for now.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Onki in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.


Jeez, Nick Kim's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Nick Kim's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Kanki Onki!
