Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Emmett Cole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mickey Rourke!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rourke fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rourke is looking to clinch but Cole is avoiding it.

Cole feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Cole throws a big right hand that misses.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rourke had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cole defends it easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Cole is really struggling to control Rourke but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Rourke is trying to keep Cole in close.

Rourke has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cole can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Cole is in close to Rourke's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Cole throws an elbow that misses. Rourke uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Cole's guard. Nice move by Rourke!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rourke thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Cole wants to sweep here but Rourke controlling him for the moment.
Cole has control of Rourke's left arm, preventing Rourke from doing any damage.

Cole can't keep his opponent in guard - Rourke advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Rourke is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cole defends it well.
Rourke is trying to control the action in half guard but Cole is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Cole tries to roll over but Rourke keeps him under control.
Cole knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rourke on the ground.

Rourke is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cole is in trouble now - Rourke has advanced to mount!
Cole is trying desperately to improve position.
Cole might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cole wants to hold on but Rourke pushes him away.
Cole keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Rourke quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Rourke but it's paid off an Cole is forced to tap! Nice work by Rourke.
