The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chara lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Sloppy strikes from Rogers. Those never looked like landing.
Chara looks to land a left hand but Rogers moved out of range nicely.
Rogers darts in and clinches Chara up against the cage.
Chara misses with some punches.
Rogers using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Chara has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Chara has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Rogers moves away from the strike by Chara.
Rogers looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chara is fending him off so far but Rogers persists. Nope, Chara circles away and we're back to standing.
Rogers takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Rogers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rogers throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rogers uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Chara.
Chara defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rogers.
Chara throws a shot from downtown. Rogers moves away and avoids it.
Rogers fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Chara avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Donny Rogers. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Zdeno Chara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rogers jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Chara walks away with a smile on his face. Rogers gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Chara connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Rogers! He's out on his feet! Chara rushes in and drops Rogers with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
