Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Barrington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Marens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marens has chosen Pittbull - Give me everything as his entrance music. Jake Marens has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tommy Barrington! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jake Marens! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barrington tries to clinch up but Marens circles away and keeps his distance. Marens decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Marens wants to take a breather but Barrington is having none of it. Marens is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Barrington is trying to stand up here but Marens is controlling him well. Nice strikes from Marens there. Marens looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Barrington with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Barrington is looking to get back to full guard here but Marens has managed to pass to side control instead. Marens swings around for an armbar but Barrington sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Marens's guard. Marens is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Barrington defends well. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Barrington is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Marens has his foot on Barrington's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Barrington works his way back into a safe position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barrington stands up and waves to Marens to follow him. Barrington jabs Marens to the body, keeping him at a distance. Barrington throws a nice head kick!
Marens takes a swing at Barrington's ribcage but misses. A head kick misses from Barrington. Marens throws a right and a left that both miss. Barrington lands a head kick!
Marens tries to land a leg kick but Barrington saw it coming and moves away.
Marens swings for the body but Barrington moves out of range.
Barrington dives in and scores a takedown into Marens's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Barrington drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Marens manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Barrington has Marens in his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marens trying to control but Barrington is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Barrington lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Marens! Marens wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Marens wants to escape the position.
Will Barrington go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Barrington gets his hands free as Marens looks to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marens prevents Barrington from getting a body triangle. Marens is trying to break free.
Barrington slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Marens tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barrington stands up from mount. Strange move. Marens closes this distance looking for a takedown but Barrington circles away. Marens shoots in for a double leg but Barrington sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Barrington dives in and scores a takedown into Marens's guard. Barrington is breathing heavily. Marens will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Marens makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Marens. Barrington tries to stand but Marens is controlling from the bottom. Marens working a defensive guard here.

Barrington gets to his feet. Marens looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Barrington wants to clinch up but Marens keeps it at a distance. Marens swings away with a leg kick that misses. Marens looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Tommy Barrington has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Marens. Barrington tries to sprawl but Marens drives through with a takedown into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tommy Barrington will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Barrington lands with a nice combination. Marens backs away looking to recover. Barrington throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Marens was covering up waiting for the punch and Barrington finishes the takedown easily into guard. Jake Marens has got the better of the ground game so far. Marens throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Marens is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Barrington trying to stand up but can't free himself from Marens's guard. Marens is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Barrington is posturing up here but Marens has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Barrington tries to roll out but it's too tight and Barrington has to tap! Slick submission there by Marens!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jake Marens! In his post fight interview, Jake Marens started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
