Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Keygo Atobe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Syusuke Fuji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Keygo Atobe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Syusuke Fuji! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fuji looks for a takedown but Atobe sprawls well. Fuji clinches up against the cage. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Fuji as Atobe tries to tie him up. Atobe tries for a takedown. No joy.

Fuji pulls guard effortlessly. Atobe looking to pass the guard. Fuji is looking to stand up but Atobe isn't so interested in that idea. Fuji pulls Atobe in close to his closed guard and prevents Atobe from doing any damage or advancing position. Fuji pushes Atobe off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Atobe closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Atobe lands in his opponent's guard.

Fuji must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Fuji stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Fuji works over Atobe with some ground and pound from guard. Fuji throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Atobe works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Atobe wants to sweep but no luck. Atobe utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Fuji working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Atobe's head. Fuji trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Fuji postures up in Atobe's guard and throws a big left but Atobe blocks it. Fuji postures up and lands a big shot to Atobe's brow. Atobe is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Atobe drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fuji manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Atobe has Fuji in his guard. Atobe not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Fuji feints and as Atobe raises his hands in defense, Fuji changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Fuji looking to pass the guard. Fuji throws a strike but Atobe rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Atobe won't allow Fuji to sweep him here. Atobe wants to control from the top but Fuji keeps moving. Fuji really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Atobe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Atobe is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Fuji is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Fuji is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Fuji has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

But no, Fuji has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

And that's the end of the fight! Syusuke Fuji comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Fuji has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
