Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Esteban Delgado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tim Ernst!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Lou da Vinci and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ernst shoots in for a double leg but Delgado sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ernst thows a body kick. Delgado tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Delgado paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Delgado closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Delgado lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Delgado looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Delgado has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Delgado might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Esteban Delgado wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Ernst shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Delgado but Delgado pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Delgado shoots in and drives through. Ernst sprawls well.
Tim Ernst seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Delgado throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ernst's waist but Ernst gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Delgado off to one side.

Ernst fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Delgado bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Horrible takedown by Delgado or perhaps it was just good defense by Ernst which made him look bad.
Ernst tries a head kick but it misses.
Delgado throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Delgado takes one to the side of the head.
Delgado has a takedown stuffed.

Delgado shoots in looking for a takedown but Ernst manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Delgado's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Delgado gets a takedown into half guard.
Ernst is looking for a sweep. Delgado is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Delgado keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Delgado throwing shots but Ernst is blocking nicely.
Delgado throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Ernst trying to hold on to Delgado's head to control him but Delgado postures up.
Delgado wants to control but Ernst is keeping him busy.

Delgado content to control rather than advance.

Delgado looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Ernst has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Delgado. Oh but Ernst has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Delgado goes limp - he's gone! Ernst jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Tim Ernst!
Our winner, Tim Ernst, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
