Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Romano Schoots (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Barrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Romano Schoots! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Luis Barrera! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Phil Schofield and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schoots tries to clinch there but Barrera circles away.
Schoots connects with a right hand. Barrera shakes it off. Barrera throws a big shot that misses. Barrera fails with a takedown attempt. Barrera avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nice jab there from Barrera.
It looks like Romano Schoots has been cut. A head kick misses from Barrera. Schoots swings for the body but Barrera moves out of range.
Schoots tries to clinch up. Barrera slips under a jab from Schoots. Barrera throws a left that rocks Schoots and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Barrera dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Schoots regain composure!
Schoots is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Schoots gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Barrera wants to pass to mount but Schoots is defending the position. Schoots is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barrera is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Barrera is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Schoots sees it coming and defends easily. Barrera seems to be looking for submissions.
Barrera is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Schoots doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Barrera. Barrera looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Barrera throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Schoots to regain full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schoots wants to sweep but no luck. Barrera advances position into side control! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Barrera is looking to take a break and control but Schoots is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Barrera tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. An elbow from Barrera crashes against the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schoots tries to improve position but can't. Barrera goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Schoots has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Barrera but great work by Schoots. Barrera can't do much from the bottom here. Schoots wants to control but Barrera is keeping him busy. Barrera gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Schoots throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Schoots is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Schoots connects with a nice short shot to Barrera's temple. Barrera on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Schoots lands strikes from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schoots working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Schoots working over Barrera with some ground and pound. Barrera looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Barrera is rocked! Schoots is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Barrera is still in real trouble! Can Schoots finish him? Barrera makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Barrera. Schoots missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Barrera looking to control.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Barrera is on top in guard.
Barrera seems to have recovered his senses. Barrera trying to control the position from guard on top but Schoots is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Schoots trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Barrera throws a strike but Schoots rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Schoots throwing strikes but missing. Schoots looking to pass the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Romano Schoots seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barrera on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Schoots tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Barrera pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Schoots fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Barrera keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The crowd cheers as Schoots lands an impressive looking overhand right. Barrera doesn't seem phased though. Schoots works Barrera's body with a nice hook. Schoots stuns Barrera with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Schoots keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Luis Barrera is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Schoots misses with a body shot
letting Barrera counter with a right hand. Barrera stuffs the takedown. Nice uppercut there from Schoots. Barrera circles away from the clinch attempt and Barrera counters with a straight right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schoots throws a hook but Barrera blocks it. Nice defenses there by Barrera. A big left from Barrera misses. Barrera defending well as Schoots loads up on a big left hand. Schoots ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Barrera looks to land a combination but Schoots avoids it well. Schoots shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Schoots throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Barrera regains full guard. Nicely done. Schoots trying to control but Barrera is working from the bottom. Barrera tries to land a sweep but no joy. Schoots distracts Barrera with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Schoots lands a couple of digs. Barrera has his foot on Schoots's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Schoots works his way back into a safe position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Barrera utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Schoots postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Schoots scoring with punches to the head and body. Barrera escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Schoots gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Schoots missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Schoots postures up and lands a big shot to Barrera's brow. Schoots throwing strikes but missing. Barrera wants to sweep here but Schoots controlling him for the moment. Schoots loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Schoots is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Barrera keeping moving, preventing Schoots from controlling successfully. Romano Schoots overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Schoots won't allow Barrera to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Schoots accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Schoots throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Barrera works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Barrera throws his legs up looking for a submission but Schoots uses it to pass to side control.
Schoots in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Barrera is looking to reverse the position. Barrera takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Schoots landing strikes. Schoots works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Barrera is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Schoots's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Schoots wants to control but Barrera is keeping him busy. Schoots lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Schoots is looking to take a break and control but Barrera is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Schoots lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Barrera at a distance.
Schoots dives in and grabs Barrera's left leg, looking for a takedown. Barrera pushes down on Schoots's head and hops out. Schoots throws the left hand but Barrera avoids the punch easily. Schoots tries for a takedown but Barrera sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Barrera stuffs the takedown attempt from Schoots. Schoots gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Romano Schoots. That's going to take a lot out of him. Schoots throws a body punch but Barrera moves out of range. Barrera leaves Schoots with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Barrera throws a shot from downtown. Schoots moves away and avoids it. Schoots throws a right hand that misses
and Barrera counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Schoots walks into a stiff left hand from Barrera. Schoots swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Schoots scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. No luck with that takedown attempt from Barrera. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Schoots throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barrera shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Barrera swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Barrera gets caught napping as Schoots dives in and scores a takedown. Barrera manages to retain guard. Barrera is trying to control the position but Schoots postures up. Schoots stands up over Barrera, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Barrera is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Schoots is aware though and is defending well. Barrera looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Barrera throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Barrera takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Schoots lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Schoots tries to free his leg and advance position but Barrera is retaining full guard. Barrera utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Schoots scores with a decent looking elbow strike. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Schoots wants to control from the top but Barrera keeps moving. Schoots working some strikes from top position. Schoots stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barrera swivels though and keeps the full guard. Barrera is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Barrera bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Schoots's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barrera trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Barrera preventing the sweep. Schoots with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Barrera can't handle though.
Barrera throwing strikes from guard but Schoots blocks nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barrera wants to control from the top but Schoots keeps moving. Barrera won't allow Schoots to sweep him here. Barrera is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Schoots is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Schoots has escaped and now he's on top! Barrera wants to sweep here but Schoots controlling him for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schoots lands a couple of decent looking shots. Barrera is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Barrera throwing shots but Schoots is blocking nicely. Barrera trying to work for an americana but Schoots has managed to regain full guard.
Barrera drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Schoots dives on top into guard.
