Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Uile De Jesus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksander Emelyanenko! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Ivan Kurochkin and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De Jesus moves into range and clinches up with Emelyanenko. Emelyanenko drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
De Jesus is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Emelyanenko pulls him back up using the underhooks. Emelyanenko wants to take the fight to the mat but De Jesus manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Emelyanenko wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Emelyanenko can't get the takedown.
Uile De Jesus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aleksander Emelyanenko. De Jesus lands a good knee to the midsection. Emelyanenko won't want to take too many of those. Emelyanenko is trying to push De Jesus away but De Jesus has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. De Jesus stops a takedown attempt from Emelyanenko.

It looks like Aleksander Emelyanenko has been cut. De Jesus could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Emelyanenko looks gassed! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. De Jesus crunches a lovely knee into Emelyanenko's ribcage. De Jesus scores with a nice hook to the head. De Jesus landing knees to the head.
De Jesus works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. De Jesus is in close to Emelyanenko's body, working some short punches and elbows. De Jesus postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. De Jesus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. De Jesus decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Emelyanenko, up you get! De Jesus gets a clinch. De Jesus connects with a nasty looking knee right to Emelyanenko's face.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emelyanenko is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Emelyanenko is fighting off a takedown attempt but De Jesus is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Emelyanenko to the mat. Emelyanenko regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Emelyanenko keeping moving, preventing De Jesus from controlling successfully. De Jesus working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Emelyanenko's head. De Jesus postures up and lands a big shot to Emelyanenko's brow. De Jesus connects with a couple of short punches. De Jesus working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. De Jesus postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Emelyanenko not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
De Jesus throws a strike but Emelyanenko rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Emelyanenko postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. De Jesus looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
De Jesus looking to sweep here. No luck so far. De Jesus has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Emelyanenko is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for De Jesus. Emelyanenko lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. De Jesus tries to strike but it doesn't land. Emelyanenko wants to control but De Jesus is keeping him busy. Emelyanenko is chipping away with strikes.

De Jesus is looking to regain half guard here but Emelyanenko keeps moving and retains side control. Emelyanenko looks up at the clock and then as De Jesus takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Emelyanenko smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelyanenko lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Emelyanenko has hold of De Jesus's arm. He's looking for a kimura. De Jesus seems comfortable defending it but Emelyanenko has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! De Jesus is real pain and he's forced to tap out! De Jesus is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Emelyanenko couldn't care less - he's delighted!
