The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearce moves out of range of the leg kick from Poppy.
Poppy finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Pearce tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Poppy paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Poppy misses with a hook
and Pearce moves into the clinch.
Pearce keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Poppy's efforts to push away.
Poppy is looking to break free of the clinch but Pearce has double underhooks.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Pearce takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Pearce is breathing heavily.
Pearce scores with a hook to the body.

Poppy misses with a punch on the inside.
Pearce tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Poppy's elbow.
Poppy prevents Pearce from breaking the clinch.
Pearce has Poppy pressed against the cage, preventing Poppy from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Pearce manages to break the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Poppy misses with a looping right.
Poppy shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pearce sprawls well. Pearce wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Poppy gets slowly back to his feet.
Poppy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pearce's waist but Pearce gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Poppy off to one side.
Poppy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pearce moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Poppy takes a swing at Pearce's ribcage but misses.
Pearce keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Poppy misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Pearce.
Poppy misses with an uppercut. Pearce saw that one coming.
Pearce is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Pearce wants to clinch.
Poppy attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Poppy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Pearce is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Poppy scores with a couple of nice shots.
Poppy is trying for a kimura here. Pearce looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Poppy wins by kimura!
