The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vikarie throws a body punch but Sumaya moves out of range.
Sumaya fails with the takedown
and Vikarie counters with a nice low kick that buckles Sumaya's knee momentarily.
Sumaya misses with a jab, cross combination.

Vikarie blocks a head kick by Sumaya.
Philip Sumaya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Forkashy Vikarie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Philip Sumaya.

Sumaya throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vikarie's waist but Vikarie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sumaya off to one side.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Sumaya has eaten all the pies!
Sumaya shoots in and drives through. Vikarie sprawls well.

Vikarie lands a nice looking body shot.
Vikarie connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Vikarie throws a right and a left that both miss.
Vikarie throws a shot to the body.
Vikarie fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Vikarie scores with a hook to the body. Sumaya takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Vikarie lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Sumaya sprawling to the canvas. Vikarie follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Sumaya hang on?

Sumaya is rocked!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Vikarie lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Sumaya quite badly. Sumaya pulls Vikarie in close trying to recover. Vikarie postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Sumaya on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Sumaya doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Forkashy Vikarie!
A relieved looking Forkashy Vikarie thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
