Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Baz Karamba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Byrne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Byrne will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Chad Campbell and John Kavanagh.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Byrne shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Karamba eats them both and turns towards Byrne to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Baz Karamba has been cut.
Byrne plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Byrne thows a body shot but no joy.
Byrne lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Byrne lands with a nice combination. Karamba backs away looking to recover.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Karamba throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Byrne's waist but Byrne gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Karamba off to one side.

Karamba shoots in looking for a takedown but Byrne manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Karamba's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Karamba. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Byrne lands a really nice looking cross but Karamba seems unphased.
Karamba fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Byrne drops Karamba with a beautiful combination! Karamba stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Byrne is looking for the KO!

Baz Karamba's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Karamba slips a jab and a cross from Byrne.
Byrne throws a combination. Karamba tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Byrne lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Karamba at a distance.

Karamba moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

A solid leg kick lands there for Byrne.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Byrne.
Byrne is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Karamba had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Karamba takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Karamba uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Byrne.
Karamba gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Karamba has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Byrne.
Byrne lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Jeez, Baz Karamba's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Byrne lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Byrne has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Byrne scores with a hook to the body. Karamba takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Karamba looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Karamba shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Byrne as he avoids it easily.
Byrne throws a solid leg kick but Karamba takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Byrne.
Karamba takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Baz Karamba's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
