Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vlad Fresh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lamont Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fresh is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Lamont Banner was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banner tries for a takedown but Fresh sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Banner slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

It looks like Vlad Fresh has been cut.
Fresh is breathing heavily.
No luck for Banner with that takedown attempt.
Banner shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Vlad Fresh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lamont Banner.
Banner shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fresh as he jumps to the side.

Fresh gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Banner to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Banner is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Banner advances position into side control!

Banner has hold of Fresh's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Fresh tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Banner cranks the arm and Fresh screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Fresh, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Lamont Banner!
A relieved looking Lamont Banner thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
