Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pierre Boisson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Damien Havoc! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boisson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Havoc sprawls well initially but Boisson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Boisson works his way into side control. Havoc is trying to buck Boisson off. Boisson controls the position. Boisson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Pierre Boisson wasn't doing enough on the ground. Boisson gets a takedown into half guard. Boisson sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boisson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Havoc! Havoc wants to control but Boisson is having none of it.

Havoc fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Havoc connects with a crisp jab. Boisson shoots in and bounces Havoc off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Boisson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Boisson stands and throws Havoc's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Havoc is letting Boisson control him for a moment. Boisson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Havoc for as long as he can get away with.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Havoc is looking to regain half guard here but Boisson keeps moving and retains side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Pierre Boisson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Havoc misses with a two punch combination.
Boisson tries to clinch but Havoc is having none of it. Boisson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Havoc to the ground. Boisson is now in Havoc's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boisson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Pierre Boisson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Boisson shoots in looking for a takedown but Havoc manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Boisson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Damien Havoc is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Boisson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Well, if Boisson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

and Havoc counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Boisson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Boisson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Boisson passes to side control. A lull in the action here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Havoc wants to get back to his feet but Boisson drags him back down. Boisson controlling the position from side mount. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Boisson throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Damien Havoc has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
