Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Meadows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buddi Zoom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Zoom's choice of entrance music: Thunder Struck - ACDC. Jack Meadows has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Meadows! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Buddi Zoom! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meadows keeps Zoom at a distance using the push kick. Meadows shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Zoom eats them both and turns towards Meadows to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Zoom shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Zoom shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Meadows's guard. Zoom is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Zoom throwing strikes but missing. Zoom is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Zoom postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Zoom accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Zoom loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Zoom is in close to Meadows's body, working some short punches and elbows. Zoom works over Meadows with some ground and pound from guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zoom keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Meadows's head. Zoom throwing strikes but missing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meadows has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Zoom can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Zoom with a flurry of punches that miss. Zoom thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Meadows's guard. Zoom is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Meadows is just riding it out for now. Zoom eventually gives up the hold. Zoom is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Meadows sees it coming and defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zoom seems to be looking for submissions.

It looks like Jack Meadows has been cut. Zoom has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Zoom looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Zoom is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Meadows doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Zoom. Meadows trying to control here.

Zoom is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Meadows is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Buddi Zoom! Buddi Zoom was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
