The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A kick lands to the mid section there for Vlad.
Dick tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vlad paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Vlad throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Vlad has Dick up against the cage in a clinch.
Vlad takes a knee to the side of the body.
Vlad has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Vlad breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Vlad looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dick looks to land a combination but Vlad avoids it well.
Dick misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Dick shoots for a takedown but Vlad saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Dick throws a nice looking combination but Vlad bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Dick counters with a three punch combo that has Vlad backing up. Vlad nods at Dick to acknowledge the strikes.

Dick pulls Vlad into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dick working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vlad doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vlad manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dick is trying to trip Vlad. He has hold of a leg but Vlad is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dick persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Dick is looking to take a break and control but Vlad is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Vlad is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Dick can't fight it off and eventually Vlad manages to take the fight to the floor. Dick looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Vlad has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Dick celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
