The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Furzon closes the distance but Roberts moves to the side
and Roberts counters with a one-two to the body.
Furzon avoids a punch combination nicely.
Roberts circles away from the clinch attempt
and Roberts counters with a lovely straight right hand!

and Furzon takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Roberts throws a right hand that Furzon ducks under and follows up with a left that Furzon also avoids with ease.

Roberts fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Furzon, pushing him back against the cage.
Roberts lands a hook that snaps the head of Furzon backwards.
Furzon ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Furzon no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Frankie Furzon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
