Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chase Rollins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chase Rollins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rick James!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rollins throws a nice looking combination but James bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Some bone on bone action there as James checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
James stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and James wants it to stay on the feet.

Rollins closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into James's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
James wants to stand but Rollins is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Rollins not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Rollins lands a couple of elbows.
Rollins with a nice head shot there.
James is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
James is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rollins lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
James is pulling down on Rollins's head. It's preventing any offense from Rollins, at least for the moment.
Rollins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Rick James.
Rollins misses with a left hand
and James counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Rick James is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
James pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rollins tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but James was well out of range. Poor timing from Rollins.
James throws a nice outside leg kick.
Rollins works over James's head and body with a nice combination.
James tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

James thows a leg kick but Rollins checks it
and Rollins counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Nice defenses there by James.
James keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rollins.
Rollins tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
James jabbing away but nothing is landing.

James rushes Rollins and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rollins can't find room to land a body shot as James controls the action.
Rollins misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Rollins works on James's body with a couple of short punches.
James takes a shot to the head.
James comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
James misses with a knee to the head.
James looking to throw knees to the head but Rollins is blocking nicely.

Rollins lands a hook that snaps the head of James backwards.
James lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Rollins blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Rollins takes a shot to the head.
James is working Rollins over against the cage.
James with an attempt at a knee that misses.

James with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
James can't find room to land a body shot as Rollins controls the action.
James tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Rollins blocks the elbow strike.
Rollins is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
James misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Rollins.
James throws a knee to the head but misses.
Rollins on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Rollins misses with a short punch on the inside.

Rollins breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rollins keeps the fight on the outside.
James tries to close the distance and clinch but Rollins swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
James takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
A telegraphed right hand from Rollins misses the target.
Rollins throws a front kick aimed at James's knee but James avoids it well.
James throws a head kick that misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
James misses the jab.
James throws a right and a left that Rollins avoids nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Rick James will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Rollins counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rollins digs a good body shot into James's ribs.
James bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Rollins's head backwards.
Rollins fails with a takedown attempt.
James is looking to clinch.
Rollins throws the kick towards the body but James avoids it.
James blocks a low kick nicely.
Rollins waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract James.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Rollins.

Rollins throws an ugly left hook that misses
and James counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
James is looking to score with low kicks.
James is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
James works the jab nicely.
Rollins chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before James can pounce on him.
Rollins throws a body punch but James moves out of range.
James scores with a one two! Rollins had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Rollins is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by James.
Rollins looks to land a left hand but James moved out of range nicely.
Rick James seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Rollins shoots for a takedown but James saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
James steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rollins.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rollins is defended easily by James.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chase Rollins. That's going to take a lot out of him.
James tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Rollins on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

James throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The fighters circle momentarily. Rollins darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
James keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
James tries to clinch up.
Rollins looks to score with a jab to the body but James is just out of range.

Rollins gets tackled into the cage by James. James maintains the clinch.
James lands an elbow inside that Rollins shrugs off.
James throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Rollins blocks it with crossed arms.
James tries a knee to the head but Rollins blocks it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rollins on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

It looks like Chase Rollins has been cut.

James throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Rollins blocks it with crossed arms.
Rollins has a couple of punches blocked by James.
Rollins takes a knee right on the jaw!
James lands a nice elbow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
James makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Rollins wants to break free but James has control.
James trying to control the position but instead, Rollins has worked for underhooks and has pushed James into the cage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rick James showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Chase Rollins's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Rollins throws a head kick that misses.
Rollins lands a leg kick that knocks James off balance momentarily.
James lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
James misses with a low kick.
James looks to land a left hand but Rollins moved out of range nicely.
James tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Rollins counters with a stiff right hand.
The fighters circling - Rollins throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
James feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Rollins's calf.

James steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rollins.
James lands a glancing blow to the side of Rollins's head.
A big right from Rollins misses.
Rollins looks to throw the jab but James is out of range.
James ducks under a wild hook from Rollins.
Rollins swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rollins keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Rollins jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
James fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rollins does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

James tries to land a front kick but Rollins steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Rollins jabs James to the body, keeping him at a distance.
James throws a sloppy head kick and Rollins moves out of range easily.
Rollins attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

James moves out of range of the leg kick from Rollins.
James throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
James throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
James thuds his right hand into Rollins's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Rollins looks to land a right hand but James moved out of range.
James swinging wildly here.
Rollins tries to score a power double leg takedown but James sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rollins somewhat.
Rollins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
James slips a jab and a cross from Rollins.

Rollins throws a head kick but James moves out of range.

and James counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Rollins misses with a hook. James ducked under it nicely.
James misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rollins throws a lazy right hand but James sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

James moves into range and clinches up with Rollins.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rollins lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down James.
Rollins lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Chase Rollins has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rick James is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

I would just about give that final round to Rick James.
I've got James winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
