Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Akeem Mignott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akeem Mignott has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Akeem Mignott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Richard Harris! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mignott shoots for a takedown but Harris saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Mignott could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Harris shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. The referee warns Mignott that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Harris takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Harris with shots to the head and body - Mignott looks very uncomfortable down there. Mignott wants to control but Harris is having none of it. Harris controlling the position easily from mount. Mignott is in all sorts of trouble here.
Harris looking to control and managing it successfully. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Harris landing strikes from the mount and Mignott is in trouble!
That's one minute gone in the round. Harris controlling from mount. Mignott is trying desperately to improve position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Harris takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Harris has hold of Mignott's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mignott manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Harris takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Harris jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Mignott manages to avoid the submission attempt. Harris controls the position. Mignott might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Mignott tries to get back to half guard but can't. You can see the frustration on Mignott's face as Harris controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mignott can't do much from the bottom here. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Mignott wants to get back to his feet. Harris remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Richard Harris hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Mignott shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Harris counters with a shoot takedown. Mignott fights it but they end up in guard. Mignott working a defensive guard here.
Harris is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harris gets to his feet. Mignott looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Harris closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Harris lands in his opponent's guard. Mignott is striking from the bottom but Harris uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. Mignott is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Mignott is working hard here to advance position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Harris is pressing down on Mignott's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mignott is holding on for now. Harris is taking a breather. Mignott says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Richard Harris dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Mignott misses with a takedown attempt and Harris counters with a takedown into side control. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Harris thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Harris has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Harris shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mignott's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mignott working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Harris doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Harris manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Harris must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harris is pushing down on Mignott's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mignott is fighting to maintain full guard but Harris has managed to sneak the leg through. Harris slows the pace down in half guard. Harris stops Mignott from getting back to his feet.
Mignott actively working from the bottom here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Harris content to control rather than advance. Harris slips a nice elbow through Mignott's hands, connecting with Mignott's forehead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harris is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Harris's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Mignott looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Harris is controlling the pace.
Mignott gets back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harris stands up over Mignott, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Harris showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Harris postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mignott is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Harris, into his guard. Mignott trying to control the position from guard on top but Harris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Harris can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harris pulls Mignott in close to prevent any damage. Richard Harris has got the better of the ground game so far. Mignott wants to control from the top but Harris keeps moving. Mignott prevents Harris from getting back to his feet. Harris keeping moving, preventing Mignott from controlling successfully. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Harris is looking to stand up but Mignott isn't so interested in that idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Richard Harris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Harris clinches up against the cage. Harris jumps guard and drags Mignott to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Harris is pulling down on Mignott's head to control his posture. Mignott prevents Harris from getting back to his feet. Mignott content to stall in guard here. Harris controlling Mignott's posture. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Harris lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mignott circles away quickly and effectively.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mignott looks to land a body kick but Harris moved away. Mignott dives in and grabs Harris's left leg, looking for a takedown. Harris pushes down on Mignott's head and hops out. Mignott misses with a straight left. Harris gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Mignott is trying to pull guard but Harris has him pressed against the cage. Harris has hold of one of Mignott's legs. Mignott is fighting the takedown attempt but Harris gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Harris is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Mignott looking for a guillotine here but Harris defends easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Harris seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harris is pushing down on Mignott's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mignott is fighting to maintain full guard but Harris has managed to sneak the leg through. Mignott trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Harris lands with some strikes. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mignott wants to control but Harris is having none of it. Harris lands a heavy elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harris controlling his opponent. Harris lands a big elbow. Mignott sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Harris tries to pass to full mount but Mignott defends it. Still in half guard, Harris seems content to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harris stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Mignott to get to his feet. Mignott fails in his attempt to clinch. Mignott avoids a punch combination nicely.
Harris scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Harris takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mignott is trying to get back to full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Richard Harris comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Harris has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
