Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tamara Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Gruber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva looks to land a body kick but Gruber moved away. The fight moves into the clinch position. Gruber lands with a short head shot on the inside. Silva wants to stall.
Gruber just leaning against Silva, taking a breather. Gruber jumps into guard, dragging Silva to the mat.
Silva is fighting to break Gruber's control of his arms but Gruber is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Gruber tries to land a sweep but no joy. Silva wants to stand but Gruber is controlling his posture from full guard. Silva preventing the sweep. Silva has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gruber is proving hard to escape from. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gruber is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gruber manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Silva manages to get himself to full guard.
Gruber gets to his feet. Silva looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Nice sprawl there from Gruber as Silva shoots in.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva shoots in and drives through. Gruber sprawls well. Silva is breathing heavily. Gruber bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Gruber controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silva can't do much from the bottom here. Gruber trying to control the action but Silva is working from the bottom. Gruber controlling from side mount. Gruber's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gruber trying to control the action but Silva is working from the bottom. Silva tries to improve position but can't. Silva is not content to let Gruber control the position.
Despite being in the dominant position, Max Gruber just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Silva tries for a takedown but Gruber circles away easily
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. and Gruber counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Silva's guard now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tamara Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gruber preventing the sweep. Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gruber is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gruber's back instead. Gruber tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Silva with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Gruber wants to try and get back to his feet. Gruber tries to hold on but Silva pushes him away. Silva get's back to his feet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gruber clinches with his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Silva is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Gruber gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Gruber has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Silva regains guard immediately. Gruber would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gruber can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Silva has momentary wrist control but Gruber slips an elbow through the middle.
It looks like Tamara Silva has been cut. Gruber is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Gruber trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Silva is trying to control the position but Gruber postures up. Gruber controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gruber passes into half guard. Gruber controlling the action here.

Max Gruber dominated that round. The cut man is working on Tamara Silva's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Silva tries to keep at a distance but Gruber has taken the fight into the clinch. Gruber gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gruber controlling the action here. Gruber postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Silva to stand up. Gruber misses with a wild combination.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt and Gruber counters with a takedown into side control. Silva prevents Gruber from moving into mount. Gruber is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gruber decides to stand back up. Silva lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Gruber thuds his shin into the meat of Silva's side. This has been an exciting period of action! Silva closes the distance looking to clinch so Gruber counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Gruber is breathing heavily. Silva looking to control.
Silva is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Silva is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Gruber preventing the sweep.

Gruber is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Silva gets his way!

Gruber trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Silva is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Gruber won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Silva off his unconscious opponent!
