Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nick Skerlik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brett Dongalletta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Skerlik! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brett Dongalletta! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Winston Howard and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Skerlik with that takedown attempt. Skerlik looking to score a takedown here. Dongalletta is defending well but Skerlik drives through and ends up in Dongalletta's guard. Skerlik pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dongalletta is keeping the position for now. Dongalletta not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Skerlik seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Skerlik might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Dongalletta controlling Skerlik's posture.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Brett Dongalletta. Skerlik has managed to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dongalletta has picked Skerlik up - he's going for a ride! Dongalletta dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Dongalletta is looking to take a break and control but Skerlik is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Dongalletta might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Skerlik kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Dongalletta working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Skerlik's thigh. Skerlik counters though and makes it back to full guard. Skerlik has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Dongalletta off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Dongalletta bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dongalletta goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Skerlik has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Dongalletta but great work by Skerlik. Dongalletta is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Skerlik is one step ahead and moves to full mount! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Skerlik goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Dongalletta is on top in guard.
Skerlik has his feet on Dongalletta's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Dongalletta shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Skerlik is trying to defend but Dongalletta finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Skerlik kicks off Dongalletta and gets to his feet. Dongalletta gets caught flat footed, as Skerlik shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Skerlik is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Dongalletta is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Skerlik pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dongalletta is keeping the position for now. Skerlik preventing the sweep. Skerlik drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dongalletta manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Skerlik has Dongalletta in his guard. Skerlik keeping moving, preventing Dongalletta from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Skerlik wants to stand and escape but Dongalletta is having none of it. Dongalletta trying to control but Skerlik is working from the bottom. Dongalletta is stalling in the full guard. Dongalletta tries to free his leg and advance position but Skerlik is retaining full guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Skerlik moves into the clinch successfully.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Skerlik is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Skerlik is fighting off a takedown attempt but Dongalletta is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Skerlik to the mat. Skerlik regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Brett Dongalletta will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Dongalletta wants to control but Skerlik has made it back to half guard. Nice work. Dongalletta is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Dongalletta is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Skerlik has managed to free his arm - good work. Skerlik makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
That's one minute gone in the round. Dongalletta drives through with a takedown into Skerlik's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Dongalletta throws a big elbow that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dongalletta wants to control from the top but Skerlik keeps moving. Dongalletta stops Skerlik from standing up. Skerlik pushes Dongalletta off and gets back to his feet.
Dongalletta wants to clinch. Skerlik tries to sprawl but Dongalletta drives through with a takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dongalletta trying to control from Skerlik's half guard. Skerlik has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Dongalletta passes Skerlik's left leg - he's now in half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Dongalletta is looking to stall here but Skerlik recovers full guard. Dongalletta trying to control but Skerlik is working from the bottom. Dongalletta must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Skerlik is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dongalletta is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dongalletta lying in Skerlik's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Skerlik decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Dongalletta taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
