Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jim John (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James VIck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jim John! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, James VIck! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Roberts and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Decent striking displayed by VIck there. James VIck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. VIck walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. John checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. John fails with the takedown. VIck connects with a nice looking jab.

and John moves into the clinch. John tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. VIck smiles and moves away.
The fighters circling - VIck throws out the jab but it was never going to land. John misses with an attempted mid kick.
John shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as VIck sprawls well. VIck wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. John gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim John. That's going to take a lot out of him. John slips under a jab.

John closes the distance and clinches up with VIck, looking for a takedown. John pushes VIck against the cage but VIck circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. John gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. VIck pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

John slips a jab from VIck. John changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. VIck tries to avoid it but John manages to keep hold of a leg and drag VIck to the ground. VIck escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! VIck misses the shot to the body. John is breathing heavily. VIck uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. VIck bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. VIck misses the shot to the body. John displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as VIck throws out the jab. VIck throws out a loose jab but John uses good head movement to avoid it. John wants to clinch. John dives in and grabs VIck's left leg, looking for a takedown. VIck pushes down on John's head and hops out. John checks a leg kick nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. VIck's corner calls for a 1-2. VIck obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. VIck fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches John on the side of the head. John tries to clinch but VIck is having none of it. VIck works the jab nicely. John slips a straight right by VIck. John ducks under a wild hook from VIck. A jab from VIck misses. VIck throws a left and a right that both miss
and John counters by moving into the clinch. John keeps the fight in the clinch, despite VIck's efforts to push away. John is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables VIck to keep the fight standing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. John has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. VIck is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. VIck swings away with an uppercut that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

VIck throws a nice looking combination but John bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. John moves away from the strike by VIck. John walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. John blocks a jab. VIck throws the left hand but John avoids the punch easily. VIck catches John with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! VIck fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

That's one minute gone in the round. VIck shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. John eats them both and turns towards VIck to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Good exchange - VIck coming out on top. John doesn't manage to clinch there - VIck circles away.

John keeps control of VIck as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. A frustrated look appears on VIck's face as he tries to break the clinch. John is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables VIck to keep the fight standing. John drops to a knee looking for a takedown but VIck gets the underhooks and prevents it.

James VIck showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

He's got his arms around VIck's waist but VIck gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing John off to one side. Both fighters are breathing heavily. John takes a jab right on the kisser.
John looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. VIck darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Sloppy strikes from VIck. Those never looked like landing. John has managed to clinch.

A wild punch that just about connected. John throws a leg kick but VIck checks it. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for John. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. John fails in his attempt to clinch. VIck throws a nice looking combination but John bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. John bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. No luck with that takedown attempt from John. John has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Jim John is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. VIck lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as John backs up against the cage.
John with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling VIck to score with a decent uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. John clinches up with VIck and pushes him back against the cage. John has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by VIck after a bit of a struggle. VIck wants to get back to striking at distance but John won't allow it.
