Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John The Pitbull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Merik Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think The Pitbull might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Three 6 Mafia - It's a Fight. Hunt has chosen Comfortably Numb as his entrance music. The key to victory for John The Pitbull has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
32 - 21 - 1, fighting out of London, John The Pitbull! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Merik Hunt! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Ackerman and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunt throws a leg kick but The Pitbull checks it. The fighters circling - Hunt throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Hunt tried to score with a low kick but The Pitbull checks it. Hunt misses with a takedown attempt - The Pitbull sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. The Pitbull misses the jab. Hunt uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from The Pitbull. The Pitbull misses with an uppercut. Hunt saw that one coming. Hunt lands a straight punch to the body, keeping The Pitbull at a distance.
Hunt closes the distance and clinches up with The Pitbull, looking for a takedown. Hunt pushes The Pitbull against the cage but The Pitbull circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hunt avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hunt throws a leg kick but The Pitbull sees it coming and moves out of range. Hunt misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from The Pitbull.
That's one minute gone in the round. A cross from The Pitbull lands. Hunt turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Hunt swinging wildly here.
The Pitbull tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hunt paws at him with a jab and circles away. The Pitbull checks a leg kick. Hunt attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Merik Hunt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hunt shoots for a double leg takedown but The Pitbull sprawls well. He's pushed Hunt's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. John The Pitbull has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Merik Hunt. Hunt misses with a body punch
and The Pitbull counters with a single leg into guard. Hunt didn't expect that. The Pitbull wants to stand but Hunt has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The Pitbull postures up.
Hunt is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! The Pitbull trying to control but Hunt is working from the bottom. The Pitbull engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The ref stands the fighters back up. John The Pitbull wasn't doing enough on the ground. The Pitbull moves out of range of the leg kick from Hunt. The Pitbull takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Hunt has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hunt there as he acknowledges the shot. Hunt finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Hunt is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by The Pitbull. Hunt gets caught napping as The Pitbull dives in and scores a takedown. Hunt manages to retain guard. The Pitbull trying to control the position from guard on top but Hunt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hunt has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but The Pitbull can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hunt is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The Pitbull isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hunt stacks The Pitbull on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hunt! The Pitbull is trying to get back to half guard. Hunt wants to control but The Pitbull is keeping him busy. The Pitbull avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Hunt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The Pitbull tries to escape but Hunt is in control. Hunt grinds an elbow into The Pitbull's temple. Hunt is trying to get an arm triangle but The Pitbull is defending well. The Pitbull wants to get back to his feet but Hunt drags him back down. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hunt misses with the ground and pound. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hunt trying to control the position but The Pitbull is working away. Hunt lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Hunt landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Merik Hunt will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Hunt misses with a takedown attempt - The Pitbull sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. The Pitbull tries to close the distance and clinch but Hunt swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Hunt clobbers The Pitbull with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. No luck for Hunt with that takedown attempt. Hunt looks to score with a jab to the body but The Pitbull is just out of range. Hunt scores with a leg kick.
John The Pitbull is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hunt lands with an overhand left. The Pitbull gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hunt to score an easy takedown into full guard. Hunt throwing strikes but missing.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Pitbull throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Hunt escapes and throws The Pitbull's legs to the side, diving into side control! Hunt creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Hunt wants to control but The Pitbull is keeping him busy. The Pitbull wants to get back to his feet. Hunt looking to punish the body of his opponent here but The Pitbull is avoiding damage well.
The Pitbull is trying to buck Hunt off. Hunt working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The Pitbull takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Hunt scores with a couple of short elbows. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The Pitbull tries to bench press Hunt off him but Hunt keeps the position. The Pitbull throws Hunt to one side and escapes! Hunt fails miserably with a takedown attempt. John The Pitbull has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Merik Hunt. The Pitbull gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Hunt avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The Pitbull displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hunt throws out the jab. Hunt shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has The Pitbull pinned against the cage. Hunt is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down The Pitbull rather than just go for the knockout.

The Pitbull scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Hunt manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! The Pitbull avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hunt. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hunt lands a nice short elbow. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hunt is looking to stall here but The Pitbull recovers full guard. Hunt throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as The Pitbull works some decent striking defense from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hunt trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but The Pitbull manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! The Pitbull works over Hunt with some ground and pound from guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Merik Hunt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action!
The Pitbull throws a big shot that misses. Hunt takes a swing at The Pitbull's ribcage but misses. The Pitbull throws a series of punches but Hunt avoids them all with ease. Hunt throws a hook but The Pitbull avoids it easily. The Pitbull scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hunt doesn't seem bothered though. Hunt throws a leg kick but The Pitbull moved away. The Pitbull rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hunt moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Hunt drives through with a takedown into The Pitbull's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Hunt got a little sloppy there for a moment and The Pitbull has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hunt has managed to get both his arms back between The Pitbull's legs - danger averted. Hunt throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The Pitbull escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hunt gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hunt throws a strike but The Pitbull rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Hunt is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hunt looking for a sweep. Not yet Hunt, not yet. Hunt manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Hunt lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Hunt wants to control the pace but The Pitbull is squirming around nicely. The Pitbull is trying to stand. Oooooh, big shot lands for Hunt! The Pitbull is hurt baaadly! Hunt is firing away with more strikes - The Pitbull is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Merik Hunt! Merik Hunt is the new welterweight champion! Jumping up and down and very excited, Merik Hunt waved his t-shirt featuring Fossington & Blythe: Gentlemen's Fight Attire's logo in front of the cameras.
