Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fedya Shlemenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcos Paulo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcos Paulo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fedya Shlemenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcos Paulo! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Paulo enables Shlemenko to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Paulo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Shlemenko trying to control but Paulo is working from the bottom. Shlemenko with a flurry of punches that miss. Paulo keeping full guard, as Shlemenko tries to pass. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shlemenko trying to control the position from guard on top but Paulo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Fedya Shlemenko has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Shlemenko shoots in for a takedown but Paulo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Paulo drives through with a takedown into guard. Shlemenko is trying to keep Paulo in close.
Shlemenko is looking for a triangle but Paulo pushes his legs off easily.
Shlemenko is breathing heavily. Paulo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shlemenko swivels though and keeps the full guard. Paulo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Shlemenko can't keep his opponent in guard - Paulo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Paulo trying to mount his opponent but Shlemenko defends it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Paulo wants to stand up but Shlemenko has a hold of him and won't allow it. Shlemenko wants to get back to his feet.
Paulo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Shlemenko tries to get to full guard but Paulo has control of the leg. Paulo wants to control but Shlemenko is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paulo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Shlemenko actively working from the bottom here. Paulo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Shlemenko defends it well. Paulo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Shlemenko is just riding it out for now. Paulo eventually gives up the hold. Shlemenko is trying to maintain the position but Paulo is very close to passing his half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Paulo seems to be working for a kimura but Shlemenko defends the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Paulo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Shlemenko has managed to free his arm - good work. Shlemenko keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Shlemenko manages to get to full guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Paulo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Marcos Paulo will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Shlemenko tries to clinch but Paulo moves out of range. Shlemenko manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Paulo on his heels. He'll look to pass Paulo's guard now, I'm sure. Paulo keeping moving, preventing Shlemenko from controlling successfully. Shlemenko is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Shlemenko forces his way into half guard. Shlemenko is stalling here. Paulo is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Shlemenko seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Paulo has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shlemenko struggling a bit here. Paulo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Paulo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Shlemenko tries to buck Paulo off but Paulo is having none of it. Shlemenko regains half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Paulo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Shlemenko defends it well. Paulo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Shlemenko slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Shlemenko is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Paulo defends well. Shlemenko had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Paulo defends it easily.

Paulo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Shlemenko has escaped the position, nice work there. Paulo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Shlemenko tries to bench press Paulo off him but Paulo keeps the position. Paulo working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shlemenko is trying to get back to half guard. Paulo lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Shlemenko down.
Paulo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Shlemenko is looking for a sweep. Paulo scoring with punches from side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shlemenko tries to get back to half guard but can't. Paulo is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Shlemenko looks calm but he's in trouble here. Paulo gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Shlemenko is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Paulo lets go of the hold and Shlemenko can pop his arm back in it's socket.
