The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bato's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Bato duly obliges.

It looks like Lemmy MacLean has been cut.

MacLean drives through with a takedown into guard.
MacLean is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
MacLean wants to pass the guard but Bato is keeping the position.
MacLean prevents Bato from getting back to his feet.
MacLean trying to control the position from guard on top but Bato is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
MacLean stays in close to Bato's body and controls the position.
Bato controls MacLean momentarily but MacLean frees himself.
MacLean pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bato is keeping the position for now.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A nice combination there by Bato.
Bato jabs at MacLean's body.
MacLean shoots in but Bato avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bato drops MacLean with a left right combo! Bato follows him down to the ground into side control.

MacLean is rocked!
The referee asks Bato politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Bato prefers to stall for the moment though.
MacLean is still in real trouble! Can Bato finish him?
MacLean tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Bato presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Bato tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
MacLean is just holding on here. Bato manages to take his back.
MacLean seems to have recovered his senses.

MacLean controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad spot.

Bato doesn't have the hooks in and MacLean manages to turn into his guard.
MacLean should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
MacLean postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
MacLean is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Bato.
MacLean misses with a double jab
and Bato counters with a straight right hand.
MacLean misses with a looping left.
MacLean misses with an uppercut.
MacLean attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Bato digs a good body shot into MacLean's ribs.
MacLean throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bato's waist but Bato gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing MacLean off to one side.
Totoy Bato is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Bato counters with a nice uppercut.
Bato stuffs the takedown attempt from MacLean. MacLean gets slowly back to his feet.
Totoy Bato has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lemmy MacLean.
MacLean tries for a takedown but Bato sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bato lands a nice hook to MacLean's body. MacLean takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Lemmy MacLean seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bato throws a series of punches but MacLean avoids them all with ease.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Bato scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
