The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Ortiz JR looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ortiz JR looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Ortiz JR shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ortiz JR takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Vaan fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ortiz JR on the side of the head.
A shot to the liver by Vaan. Beautiful body shot.
Vaan connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Vaan throws a low kick but it's checked well by Ortiz JR.
Vaan lands a jab to the nose.
Ortiz JR is rocked!
Ortiz JR walks straight into a right hand from Vaan - that's dropped him! Vaan jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Ortiz JR from any more punishment! Ortiz JR complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Gabranth Vaan!
Gabranth Vaan opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
