Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alex Nasri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Angero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steven Angero is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alex Nasri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steven Angero!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angero staying out of range there.
Angero fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Angero moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Alex Nasri has been cut.
Angero looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nasri really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Angero is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Nasri's half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Nasri is defending against the submission attempts here by Angero.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Alex Nasri.
Angero fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Nasri gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Nasri holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Angero seems to be working for a kimura but Nasri defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nasri is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Angero's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Angero's back!

Nasri doesn't have the hooks in and Angero manages to turn into his guard.

Nasri is pulling down on Angero's head. It's preventing any offense from Angero, at least for the moment.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Angerois looking to pass into half guard but Nasri pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Nasri is in guard.

Angero had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nasri defends it easily.
Nasri is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Angero is squirming around, avoiding Nasri's attempts to control the action.

Angero is wriggling around trying to escape.
Nasri can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Angero is looking to escape.
Angero tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Angero is trying to reverse the position but instead Nasri has taken his back - oops!

Nasri is controlling the position but Angero somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
Nasri is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Angero!
Nasri content just to control the position here.
Nasri's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Angero shoots in for a takedown but Nasri shows good takedown defense.
Angero scores with a hook to the body. Nasri takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Angero tries for a takedown but Nasri sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Nasri gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Nasri fails to land the takedown.
Angero has his takedown stuffed

and Nasri counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Alex Nasri has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Angero.

Nasri stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Nasri dodges the punch combination from Angero.

Angero moves in looking to clinch but Nasri pushes him off.

Angero gets caught napping as Nasri dives in and scores a takedown. Angero manages to retain guard.
Nasri slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Angero is looking for a triangle here but Nasri uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Angero tries to improve position but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Nasri swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Angero tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Nasri manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Angero shoots in and bounces Nasri off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Angero wants to stand and escape but instead Nasri has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Angero looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Nasri passes into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Nasri stands up and beckons Angero to his feet.

Angero manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Nasri on his heels. He'll look to pass Nasri's guard now, I'm sure.
Angero is fighting to break Nasri's control of his arms but Nasri is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Alex Nasri has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Angero fails with the takedown.
Alex Nasri is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Angero doesn't manage to clinch there - Nasri circles away.
Nasri stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nasri wants it to stay on the feet.

Angero throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nasri's waist but Nasri gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Angero off to one side.
Alex Nasri has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Angero.

and Nasri decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Angero's guard.

Nasri in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Angero is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
