Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hayato Sakurai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joachim Hansen! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hansen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sakurai. Hansen avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Hansen takes one to the side of the head.
It looks like Joachim Hansen has been cut. Sakurai has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hansen finds it's way round the side to connect with Sakurai's head.
It looks like Hayato Sakurai has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hansen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sakurai. Hansen missing with a left hand there. Sakurai was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Hansen lands with a straight right. Sakurai didn't see that one coming. Sakurai missing with a left hand there. Hansen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Sakurai misses the jab. Hansen blocks a jab. The fighters circle momentarily. Hansen darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Hansen throws a big shot that misses. A jab from Hansen misses. Hansen throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sakurai on the side of the head.
Sakurai is rocked! Nice defenses there by Hansen. Oh Sakurai is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Sakurai slips under a jab from Hansen. Sakurai seems to have got his legs back now. Hansen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sakurai throws out the jab. Sakurai scores with a sloppy right hand. Hansen should have avoided that one. Hansen pounces like a tiger and cracks Sakurai with a vicious hook! Sakurai is down but not out! Hansen follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Joachim Hansen! During a confident post fight interview, Joachim Hansen thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
