Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between DeAndre Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Thomas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Thomas can't keep his opponent in guard - Smith advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith is working for a kimura but Thomas is defending it quite comfortably.

Smith is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Thomas to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Thomas shrugs it off.

Smith is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Thomas looks calm but he's in trouble here. Smith gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Thomas is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Smith lets go of the hold and Thomas can pop his arm back in it's socket.
