Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Talib Kweli!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kweli looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A jab from Kweli misses.
Kweli pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kweli misses with an uppercut.
Jones jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Jones is looking to clinch.
Jones throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Kweli has his takedown stuffed

and Jones counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kweli's guard now.

Kweli wants to get back to his feet but Jones is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Jones remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Jones fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kweli looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Kweli is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kweli shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jones as he avoids it easily.
Kweli is breathing heavily.
Kweli misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Talib Kweli has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kweli doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jones throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kweli was covering up waiting for the punch and Jones finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Jones is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kweli can do to turn this around?
Jones wants to control from the top but Kweli keeps moving.
