He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Kichiro Kaneko has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaneko looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Jones!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones looks gassed!
Kaneko breaks from Jones's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Kaneko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jones is bucking up trying to escape but Kaneko cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Kaneko is in the full mount, landing strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kaneko lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Jones is rocked!
Kaneko postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Jones bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Kaneko and the fight is over!
