Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vevrin Betlach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derrick Rankinstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Betlach comes to the cage accompanied by Higher Ground. Rankinstein comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Going Back To Cali by LL Cool J kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
27 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vevrin Betlach! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Derrick Rankinstein! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Konstantin Menshow and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rankinstein misses with a wild combination.
Rankinstein ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Betlach moves away. A telegraphed right hand from Betlach misses the target. Betlach misses with a looping right. Rankinstein tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Betlach was well out of range. Poor timing from Rankinstein. Rankinstein misses the shot to the body. Rankinstein moves out of range as Betlach throws a body kick.
Rankinstein takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Betlach lands a slapping body shot.
Betlach misses with a wild body shot. Rankinstein moves away from the strike by Betlach. No joy there for Rankinstein, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rankinstein throws a shot from downtown. Betlach moves away and avoids it. Rankinstein works Betlach's body with a nice hook. A head kick misses from Betlach. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Betlach, as that shot connected.
Rankinstein scores with a one two! Betlach had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Betlach misses with a two punch combination.
Rankinstein throws a head kick but Betlach moves out of range.
Betlach missing with a left hand there. Rankinstein was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Rankinstein throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Betlach's waist but Betlach gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rankinstein off to one side. Rankinstein lands a nice looking body shot.
Vevrin Betlach seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Betlach. Rankinstein shrugs it off though. Rankinstein gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Betlach. Betlach throws a jab but it's blocked by Rankinstein. Rankinstein misses with a body shot.
Betlach wants to land a leg kick but Rankinstein is out of range. Rankinstein moves forwards but Betlach connects with a nice, crisp jab. Rankinstein is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Betlach rather than just go for the knockout. Betlach scores with the left hand. Rankinstein knows he should have avoided that one.
Rankinstein is rocked! Betlach lands with an uppercut that bounces Rankinstein off the cage and back into range. Rankinstein is still on wobbly legs! Can Betlach finish him? Rankinstein walks straight into a right hand from Betlach - that's dropped him! Betlach jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Rankinstein from any more punishment! Rankinstein complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
