Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bonhomme Sept Heures (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hayate Mizurugi Samuelsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Samuelsson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Cryin Like a Bitch - Godsmack. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bonhomme Sept Heures! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Hayate Mizurugi Samuelsson! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sept Heures feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Samuelsson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sept Heures tries to stand but Samuelsson is controlling from the bottom. Samuelsson keeping moving, preventing Sept Heures from controlling successfully. Sept Heures stands up and waves to Samuelsson to follow him. Samuelsson gets tackled into the cage by Sept Heures. Sept Heures maintains the clinch. Sept Heures can't break the clinch.
Samuelsson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Sept Heures to keep the fight standing. Sept Heures tries to break the clinch but Samuelsson is controlling the position. Sept Heures jumps guard.
Sept Heures has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Samuelsson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Sept Heures. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Samuelsson working the ground and pound from side control.

Samuelsson throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Sept Heures works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Samuelsson is trying to control. Sept Heures wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Samuelsson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Samuelsson trying to control the action but Sept Heures is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Samuelsson throwing shots but Sept Heures is blocking nicely. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Samuelsson in particular looking to stall. Sept Heures has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Samuelsson is working away from the top position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Samuelsson is working for a submission of some sort.

Samuelsson controlling the action here. Samuelsson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Samuelsson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Sept Heures defending well though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Samuelsson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Samuelsson trying to control the action but Sept Heures is working from the bottom. Sept Heures regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Samuelsson. Sept Heures utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Samuelsson wants to pass the guard but Sept Heures is keeping the position. Samuelsson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hayate Mizurugi Samuelsson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Sept Heures lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Samuelsson circles away quickly and effectively. Sept Heures fails with an attempt to clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Samuelsson. Samuelsson throws an elbow but Sept Heures slips to the side and avoids it well. Samuelsson lands some shots froms side control. Sept Heures parries the strikes from Samuelsson easily there. Samuelsson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Sept Heures to escape.

That's one minute gone in the round. Sept Heures wants to control but Samuelsson postures up. Samuelsson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Samuelsson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sept Heures knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Samuelsson wants to control but Sept Heures is keeping him busy. Samuelsson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Sept Heures is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Samuelsson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sept Heures sees it coming and defends easily. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Samuelsson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hayate Mizurugi Samuelsson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Sept Heures walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Samuelsson checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Samuelsson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Samuelsson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Horrible takedown by Samuelsson or perhaps it was just good defense by Sept Heures which made him look bad. Samuelsson has a takedown stuffed. Bonhomme Sept Heures has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hayate Mizurugi Samuelsson. Samuelsson checks the leg kick nicely there.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Sept Heures dives in and scores a takedown into Samuelsson's guard. Hayate Mizurugi Samuelsson has got the better of the ground game so far.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Samuelsson regains full guard. Nicely done. Samuelsson has a closed guard, preventing Sept Heures from standing up. Samuelsson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sept Heures can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Samuelsson keeping moving, preventing Sept Heures from controlling successfully. Sept Heures wants to pass the guard but Samuelsson is keeping the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Bonhomme Sept Heures wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Sept Heures keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Samuelsson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Samuelsson showed some decent athleticism there. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Samuelsson looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
