The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva dodges the punch combination from Javis.
Javis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Javis throws a right and a left that Silva avoids nicely.
Javis closes the distance and clinches.
Javis throws a knee to the head but misses.
Javis tries to break free but Silva pushes him back against the cage.
Javis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Javis feints a jab promting Silva to slip. Javis then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Silva slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Javis clinches up with Silva and pushes him back against the cage.
Come on Silva - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Javis is trying to break the clinch but Silva has him pressed against the cage.

Silva works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
