Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Damian Laboy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laboy's entrance music is It's Amazing by Kanye West. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Damian Laboy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Alexander Young! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Young looks to land a right hand but Laboy moved out of range. Young gets caught flat footed, as Laboy shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Laboy throws a big right hand that misses. Laboy is in close to Young's body, working some short punches and elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Laboy throws a strike but Young rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Laboy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Young gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Laboy is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Young avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Young wanted to stand there but Laboy had control of the position. Young got a little sloppy there for a moment and Laboy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Young has managed to get both his arms back between Laboy's legs - danger averted.

Young must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Laboy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Laboy had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Young defends it easily. Laboy working for a triangle but Young defends it easily.
Young wants to stand but Laboy has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Young is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Laboy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Young defends well.

Laboy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Young doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Young manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Young stands and steps away. Laboy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Laboy has his takedown stuffed and Laboy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Young defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Laboy. Young will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Laboy takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Young throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Young misses with a two punch combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Laboy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Young is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Laboy has just dragged him back down to the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Young on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Laboy landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Laboy lands a few punches from side control. Laboy throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Young works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Laboy missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Laboy thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Young is trying to stand back up but Laboy is controlling him
Laboy looks to land a strike but Young avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Laboy makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Laboy working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Laboy works over Young with some ground and pound from guard. Laboy with a nice head shot there. Laboy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Laboy content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Laboy postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Laboy connects with a couple of short punches. Laboy working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Young's head. Laboy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Young works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Young has momentary wrist control but Laboy slips an elbow through the middle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Damian Laboy dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Laboy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Young tries to avoid it but Laboy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Young to the ground. Young escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Laboy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Young as he avoids it easily. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Laboy here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Young misses with a double jab.
Young throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Damian Laboy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Young misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Young can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Laboy is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Young frees his head nicely. Oh but Laboy has switched to an armbar! Young is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
