Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rivera kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Your Hand in Mine. The crowd seem to be enjoying Peters's choice of entrance music: Sevendust - Enemy. Mike Peters has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Carlos Rivera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
24 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Peters! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peters lands with a good body shot. Rivera moves away from the strike by Peters. Peters scores with a punch to the head. Rivera moves out of range of the body kick from Peters.
Rivera shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rivera showed some decent athleticism there. Peters is in trouble now - Rivera has advanced to mount! Peters sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Peters has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rivera is working away from the top position though. Well, if Rivera is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
This has been an exciting period of action! Peters works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rivera trying to control but Peters is working from the bottom. Rivera sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Peters's guard. Peters wants to control but Rivera passes into side.
Peters tries to buck Rivera off but Rivera is having none of it. Rivera tries for a kimura but Peters is defending well. Peters struggling a bit here. Rivera thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Peters sneaks back into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peters is trying to get back to full guard. Rivera trying to control from half guard but Peters is working away. Rivera throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Rivera stalling. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Rivera is looking to advance position but Peters won't allow it. Peters is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rivera wants to pass to mount but Peters is defending the position. Peters has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rivera is working away from the top position though. Rivera wants to pass to mount but Peters is defending the position. Rivera is thwarting Peters's attempts to control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rivera defending well as Peters loads up on a big left hand. Rivera cracks Peters with a good jab. Peters looks to land a combination. Rivera sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like Carlos Rivera has been cut. Rivera ducks under a wild hook from Peters. Mike Peters seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rivera tried to score with a low kick but Peters checks it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Peters will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rivera misses with a hook. Peters bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Peters misses with an uppercut. Rivera lands the left hand. Peters takes a swing at Rivera's ribcage but misses. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Peters throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Peters on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rivera. Rivera obviously looking to wear him down.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Mike Peters will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Carlos Rivera's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Peters shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rivera as he avoids it easily. Rivera moves out of range of the strikes. Rivera tries to clinch up. Peters misses with a body shot.

Peters throws a shot from downtown. Rivera moves away and avoids it. Peters throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Rivera counters with a straight right hand. Peters scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Peters misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Peters shoots for a double leg takedown but Rivera sprawls well. He's pushed Peters's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Carlos Rivera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Peters.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peters misses with a hook. Rivera ducked under it nicely. Peters jabbing away but nothing is landing. Rivera shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Rivera was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Peters tries to get back to half guard but can't. Rivera avoids the attempt from Peters to control. Peters can't escape the position.
Peters tries to hold on but Rivera pushes him away. Peters stops Rivera from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Peters is trying desperately to improve position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rivera looking to control but Peters is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Peters tries to hold on but Rivera postures up. Rivera manages to capitalize on a mistake by Peters to take his back! Peters prevents Rivera from getting a body triangle. This has been an exciting period of action! Peters avoids the strikes from Rivera. Peters is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Peters is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Peters turns into Rivera and is now in his guard.
Peters trying to control the position from guard on top but Rivera is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Peters content to stall in guard here. Rivera is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Rivera tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Peters won't allow Rivera to get back to his feet. Peters connects with a couple of short punches. Peters trying to control but Rivera is working from the bottom. Rivera is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Peters is controlling him. Peters pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rivera is keeping the position for now. Rivera keeping moving, preventing Peters from controlling successfully. Carlos Rivera overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Peters is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

That was a close second round but I would say that Carlos Rivera will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Carlos Rivera's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Peters is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rivera landing with the ground and pound. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rivera sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peters is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rivera pushes down on Peters's leg and manages to get into half guard. Peters is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Peters moves into full guard.

Rivera postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Rivera is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Rivera trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rivera postures up in Peters's guard and throws a big left but Peters blocks it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rivera stands and throws Peters's legs to the side, diving into side control. Peters tries to improve position but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peters is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Rivera trying to control the position but Peters is working away. Rivera wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Peters, who protects the arm well. Rivera is working Peters over with some ground and pound from side control. Peters can't do much from the bottom here. Peters is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Peters looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Peters looking for submissions off his back. Peters takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rivera is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Rivera tries to control but Peters wriggling away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Peters really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Carlos Rivera. I think Rivera has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
