Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chris Mullen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Magatsu Taito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mullen comes to the cage accompanied by Country Boy Can Survive. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
25 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Chris Mullen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Magatsu Taito! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Chad Campbell and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mullen misses with a body shot.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Taito. Taito throws a leg kick that misses. Taito throws a leg kick and Mullen counters with a body kick. Mullen checks the leg kick nicely there.
Mullen ducks under a wild hook from Taito. Mullen scores with a crisp jab that stopped Taito in his tracks. Mullen moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Chris Mullen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mullen smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Mullen throws an off balance right hand
and Taito cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A big left from Mullen misses. Mullen walks into a straight right hand from Taito. Taito on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Mullen checks a leg kick. Taito with a hook. A low kick from Taito misses and Mullen counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
That's one minute gone in the round. Taito throws a leg kick which misses Mullen's front leg but catches the back leg as Mullen tries to avoid it. Mullen blocks a head kick by Taito.

Mullen tries to score with a low kick but Taito moves his leg out of the way. Taito swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mullen thows a leg kick but Taito checks it and Taito counters with a nice double leg into guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Taito trying to control but Mullen is working from the bottom. Taito looking to pass the guard. Taito throwing strikes but missing. Mullen wants to sweep but no luck. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Taito postures up in Mullen's guard and throws a big left but Mullen blocks it. Taito throwing strikes but missing. Mullen keeping moving, preventing Taito from controlling successfully. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Taito throws a strike but Mullen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mullen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Mullen postures up in Taito's guard and throws a big left but Taito blocks it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mullen trying to control the position from guard on top but Taito is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Taito looking for a guillotine here but Mullen defends easily.
Mullen wants to control from the top but Taito keeps moving. Taito bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mullen's guard. Taito with a flurry of punches that miss. Mullen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Taito working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Taito preventing the sweep. Taito pushes down on Mullen's leg and manages to get into half guard. Mullen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Taito thows a huge punch but Mullen dodges it nicely.
Taito is working for a submission of some sort.
Taito seems to be working for a kimura but Mullen defends the submission attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Magatsu Taito dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
A solid body kick from Mullen. Taito throws a leg kick but Mullen moved away. Mullen takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Taito changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mullen tries to avoid it but Taito manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mullen to the ground. Mullen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Mullen looks for the body kick but Taito saw that one coming. Mullen is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Chris Mullen is winning the standup battle so far. Mullen throws a quick inside leg kick. Taito takes a body punch but keeps moving. Mullen blocks a jab. Mullen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Taito stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Mullen swinging wildly here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Taito misses with a hook. Mullen scores with a one two! Taito had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Taito fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Taito throws a leg kick and Mullen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Taito is rocked! Mullen thuds a left hand into Taito's body. Taito is still on wobbly legs! Can Mullen finish him? Mullen closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Taito! Mullen dives in looking to finish! Taito is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris Mullen! A loyal slave to those sponsorship dollars, Chris Mullen made sure he mentioned Firebird Designs, along with how happy he was to win his fight.
