Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Terrell Kolat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Svetnela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Terrell Kolat! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Svetnela! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Svetnela throws a head kick that misses. Kolat misses with a jab, cross combination.
Igor Svetnela seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kolat has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Svetnela swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kolat counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Svetnela's guard now. Kolat wants to stand but Svetnela has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Kolat postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Svetnela utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Svetnela keeping moving, preventing Kolat from controlling successfully. Kolat trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kolat trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Kolat advances position into side control! Kolat lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Svetnela down.

Kolat takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Svetnela tries to bum rush Kolat with a series of wild strikes but Kolat uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Svetnela rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kolat moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Svetnela.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Svetnela doesn't manage to clinch there - Kolat circles away.

Svetnela tries to clinch up and Kolat counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kolat. Svetnela looks gassed! Kolat with a flurry of punches that miss. Kolat wants to control from the top but Svetnela keeps moving.

That was a close round but I would say that Terrell Kolat will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Svetnela tries to avoid it but Kolat manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Svetnela to the ground. Svetnela escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A head kick misses from Svetnela. Terrell Kolat is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Svetnela throws a right hand that Kolat ducks under and follows up with a left that Kolat also avoids with ease. Svetnela throws a push kick but Kolat slaps the foot to one side. A combination from Kolat does no damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Svetnela throws a leg kick but Kolat checks it. Kolat shoots in but no luck this time. Svetnela throws a sloppy head kick and Kolat moves out of range easily. Svetnela misses with a few strikes there.

Kolat postures up in Svetnela's guard and throws a big left but Svetnela blocks it. Kolat is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Svetnela keeping moving, preventing Kolat from controlling successfully. Svetnela wants to sweep but no luck.

Kolat working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kolat misses with a series of wild punches.
Kolat drops his hands momentarily and Svetnela takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Kolat shoots in and bounces Svetnela off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Svetnela working a defensive guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kolat trying to control the position from guard on top but Svetnela is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kolat in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Kolat stands up and waves to Svetnela to follow him. Svetnela goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. A chopping leg kick lands by Svetnela.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Svetnela wants to clinch up but Kolat keeps it at a distance. Kolat shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Svetnela as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Terrell Kolat. That's going to take a lot out of him. Svetnela darts in trying to clinch and Kolat counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Svetnela wants to sweep but no luck. Svetnela not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Svetnela can't keep his opponent in guard - Kolat advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Kolat thows a huge punch but Svetnela dodges it nicely.

Terrell Kolat dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Svetnela scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Svetnela throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kolat. Svetnela swinging wilding here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Svetnela stuffs the takedown attempt from Kolat. Kolat gets slowly back to his feet. Kolat gets a takedown into half guard. Kolat throwing shots but Svetnela is blocking nicely. Svetnela is trying to control but Kolat manages to pass to mount!
Svetnela really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kolat. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kolat has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Svetnela's face.

Kolat breaks from Svetnela's wrist control and lands an elbow. Kolat is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Svetnela has managed to escape the submission attempt.

And that's the end of the fight! Terrell Kolat showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kolat, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
