The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laski shoots in but Fabreezi avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Tupakoiva Laski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fabreezi fails with a takedown attempt.
Fabreezi defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Laski.
Laski fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tupakoiva Laski. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck for Laski with that takedown attempt.
Fabreezi should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Fabreezi tries to close the distance and clinch but Laski swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Laski sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Fabreezi closes the distance and clinches.

Fabreezi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Fabreezi fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fabreezi shoots for a takedown but Laski saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Fabreezi shoots in but Laski avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Fabreezi closes the distance and clinches up with Laski, looking for a takedown. Fabreezi pushes Laski against the cage but Laski circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Fabreezi throws a nice outside leg kick.

Laski feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Tupakoiva Laski just wasn't active enough.
Laski looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fabreezi is fending him off so far but Laski persists. Nope, Fabreezi circles away and we're back to standing.
Fabreezi connects with a jab.

Fabreezi rushes Laski and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Fabreezi tries for a takedown but Laski manages to get underhooks.

Fabreezi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Laski shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Fabreezi's guard.

Laski got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fabreezi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Laski has managed to get both his arms back between Fabreezi's legs - danger averted.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fabreezi can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Fabreezi stuffs the takedown.
Fabreezi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Fabreezi is trying hard to land a takedown here. Laski sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Laski tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fabreezi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Laski somewhat.

Fabreezi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Laski sprawls well initially but Fabreezi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fabreezi is trying to control the action in half guard but Laski is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Laski is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Fabreezi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Fabreezi's back!
I really don't envy Fabreezi right now.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fabreezi just trying to survive but Laski is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Fabreezi is trying to remain composed but Laski is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

Tupakoiva Laski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fabreezi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Laski stays in close to Fabreezi's body and controls the position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Fabreezi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Laski walks away with a smile on his face. Fabreezi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Fabreezi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Laski throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fabreezi's waist but Fabreezi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Laski off to one side.

Fabreezi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Laski sprawls well. Laski wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fabreezi gets slowly back to his feet.

Laski swats away the attempt to clinch by Fabreezi.
Laski closes the distance and clinches up with Fabreezi, looking for a takedown. Laski pushes Fabreezi against the cage but Fabreezi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Laski takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Laski drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
