Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Darrius Styles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Layin Prayin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Darrius Styles has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Darrius Styles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Layin Prayin! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Styles changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Prayin tries to avoid it but Styles manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Prayin to the ground. Prayin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Styles misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Styles shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Prayin counters by clinching up. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darrius Styles. That's going to take a lot out of him. Prayin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Styles tries to score a power double leg takedown but Prayin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Styles somewhat. Prayin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Styles. Styles closes this distance looking for a takedown but Prayin circles away. Prayin has taken the fight to the clinch.
Prayin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Prayin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Styles. A combination from Prayin does no damage. Prayin pushes Styles up against the cage in a clinch. Prayin manages to break the clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Styles fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Prayin gets in close and instigates a clinch. Prayin breaks from the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Prayin tries to clinch but Styles moves out of range. Prayin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Prayin looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Styles managing to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Styles wants to sweep here but Prayin controlling him for the moment. Prayin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Styles is proving hard to escape from. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Prayin trying to control the position from guard on top but Styles is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Layin Prayin has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Sloppy strikes from Prayin. Those never looked like landing. Prayin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Styles swats him away and circles back towards the center. A momentary lapse in concentration from Prayin enables Styles to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Prayin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Styles wants to control from the top but Prayin keeps moving. Styles is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Prayin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Styles. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Prayin is trying to keep Styles in close.
Styles keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Prayin's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Prayin wants to stand and escape but Styles is having none of it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Prayin can do anything to dispel that myth. Styles postures up.
Prayin looks gassed! Styles wants to control from the top but Prayin keeps moving. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Prayin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Styles is working to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Styles slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Styles is trying to maintain the position but Prayin is very close to passing his half guard. Prayin wants to get back to his feet.
Styles keeps control of the position for the meantime. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Styles is trying to maintain the position but Prayin is very close to passing his half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Styles throws a right hand that misses

Styles throws a body kick that misses and Prayin counters with a nice body kick.
Styles moves out of range of the strikes. Prayin cracks Styles with a right hand to the side of the head. Darrius Styles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Prayin looks to land a combination but Styles avoids it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. No luck for Styles with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darrius Styles. That's going to take a lot out of him. Styles shoots for a double leg takedown but Prayin sprawls well. He's pushed Styles's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Styles fails with the takedown enabling Prayin to counter with a crisp jab. The fight moves into the clinch position. Prayin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Prayin tries to clinch up. Styles is trying hard to land a takedown here. Prayin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Styles scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Styles tries to score with some ground and pound. Prayin controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Prayin is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Styles asserts his dominance and retains side control. Styles looks up at the clock and then as Prayin takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Styles smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Styles has an Americana. Prayin didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Styles is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Styles hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
