Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tiny Bomb! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Eric Coleman! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coleman tries to clinch up. Bomb tries to bum rush Coleman with a series of wild strikes but Coleman uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Some wild striking there from Bomb.
Bomb throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Bomb lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Coleman circles away quickly and effectively. Bomb swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bomb will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bomb gets caught napping as Coleman dives in and scores a takedown. Bomb manages to retain guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Coleman wants to pass the guard but Bomb is keeping the position. Coleman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Bomb trying to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coleman engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Coleman's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Eric Coleman. Coleman closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Bomb knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Coleman on the ground. You can see the frustration on Bomb's face as Coleman controls the position. Coleman working the head with strikes. Coleman is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Bomb's shoulder. That is not cool. Coleman working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here. Coleman scores with punches from side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Coleman is chipping away with strikes.
Coleman advances to full mount. Coleman is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bomb can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Bomb is bucking up trying to escape but Coleman cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Coleman looking to control and managing it successfully. Coleman lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Bomb hang on? Coleman lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Bomb! Coleman sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Bomb and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Eric Coleman! A relieved looking Eric Coleman thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
